Woodford Horse Riding Stables in Co. Cavan

Woodford Stables are only a few minutes drive from Belturbet, just outside Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan. Nestled in a quite and picturesque country setting, where you can enjoy a horse riding lesson in their arena or a trek on the farm and further afield also.

We cater for everyone – children, adults, from the first time rider to the more experienced rider, for both flat work and jumping.  Lessons are provided by qualified BHS Instructors.

Trekking is available for all levels of riders either on the immediate farm or through our quiet fields and streams and on country roads.  Again for the more experienced and adventurous we can also go further afield, always getting to see the best of the surrounding countryside!

At Woodford Stables we want you to enjoy your experience with our horses and ponies, along with learning about these fabulous animals.   Horse riding lessons are only part of what we have to offer at the stables. We can teach you, not only to get a great horse riding experience, but also how to groom and care for them… how do you put a bridle or a saddle on a horse?  Why do we put shoes on horses?  The questions are many and we would hope to answer them for you.

Trekking is available on the immediate farm for the less experienced and for the more experienced we can offer treks through other parts of the farm and further afield.

Safety Helmets are provided at the stables.  For the first time rider who has not yet acquired the appropriate horse riding gear, boots with a heel must be worn along with long comfortable trousers or leggings.
